I'm glad someone else (other than me) brought this up... I've always been a big time Tyler fan. Lance is an inspiration, for sure, but Tyler has always been my favorite rider. In fact, I was banking on seeing him topple Armstrong.
My thoughts: Tyler wasn't routinely doing anything "worse" than what any other rider in the pro peleton was (and is) doing. But I do think something got "messed up" and Tyler got busted. Example: Removing one's own blood and training for some period of time before re-injecting one's own blood back into their system is a way to increase plasma volume... And is undetectable. Tyler was busted for doing this exact same thing, but re-injecting someone elses blood. Remember how a teammate of his got busted for the same thing weeks after? Coincidence, or a mix-up of blood reserves?
My opinion is that Tyler is no "dirtier" than any other pro... just unlucky in this event.
"I always loved running...it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs." - Jesse Owens
"There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Interesting. I hate to admit it, but you are prob. right - about him being no more dirty that other riders, but just getting caught.
I feel bad for Zach Lund, the Olympic skeleton guy, for getting banned for using Propecia product.
Apparently he disclosed it and everything, it's just that it made it to the banned list last year.
(And I mean, come on, banning a skeleton slider? Isn't that kind of like saying "hey the curling team is on 'roids, lets ban them??)
