A Shout Out To All San Diego Runners
This is an Australian Nike ad from last year:
"Running isn’t about fashion or appearances. You don’t give a toss how you look when you run. You just want to push your body to the limits, to hear your heart pounding and lungs heaving out of your chest. You want to be at your leg-pumping, sweat-pouring, mouth-gaping, tongue-lolling, vein-popping best. Always. And if that makes you look ugly to some people, then so be it.
Running isn’t pretty.
RUN YOURSELF UGLY."
Best of luck to all racers this weekend, and remember, "pain is weakness leaving the body."

That's awesome! Makes me feel better for having a bloody knee and being covered in sand, dirt, rain, and snot today. :) ha ha
OK. Attempt No. 3 to leave a comment...anyway, I had to smile at the quote at the end of this entry. I workout at a gym at Miramar and am surrounded by Marines that wear that quotation on their T-shirts. It's quite popular around here.
Thanks for the encouragement after I posted about yesterday's marathon. It was really nice to read!
LOVE those quotes!!! Printing them out and taping them to my cube for motivation! isn't it too bad that i am not going to run with Lance? i would have totally tried to make out with him.
